Coin lockers at Hakata Station

JR Hakata City publishes its lockers building by building, which is unusually transparent. The Amu Plaza basement has four small at ¥500, twenty large at ¥1,000 and four extra-large at ¥1,200, and opens from 05:30 to midnight. The third floor has thirty-eight small, twenty medium and sixty-four large.
The Kuuten restaurant floors on nine and ten have the cheapest large lockers in the building at ¥600, plus extra-large at ¥800, and give three hours free to diners. Deitos Annex on the first floor is open twenty-four hours.
Across the station as a whole, the conventional-line side is managed by JR Kyushu and the Shinkansen side by JR West, with small lockers from about ¥400 and extra-large around ¥1,000. JR Kyushu publishes a station-by-station locker list, and a locker concierge screen shows what is free.

If the lockers are full
- Hakata is the southern terminus of the Sanyo Shinkansen, so an oversized case is best sent on rather than carried through the gates.

Full lockers are normal at Hakata Station from mid-morning onwards in peak seasons.
