Coin lockers at Shibuya Station

Four operators run lockers at Shibuya — JR East, Tokyu, Tokyo Metro and the Keio Inokashira line — and they do not share a price list. Tokyu alone has eight or more banks spread over basement levels one to three, in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes.
The important practical point is that most Tokyu lockers do not take cash at all: they accept electronic money, contactless IC credit cards and QR codes. Arriving with only coins is a real way to get stuck here.
Shibuya is under permanent redevelopment, so bank locations move. The Tokyu management centre answers questions on weekday daytimes if a locker will not open.

These are the common cabinet sizes, not a guarantee for this station: operators buy their own cabinets and even publish the figures as approximate. Measure your case and check it in the size checker before you count on a locker.
If the lockers are full
- ecbo cloak covers Shibuya densely, including shops on the Miyashita Park side that are open late.
- The Tokyu department store side has larger cabinets than the JR side, including extra-large units.
- If you are moving on to Shinjuku or Tokyo the same day, those stations have far more capacity.

Expect roughly ¥300 for the smallest size and up to about ¥1200 for the largest, per calendar day rather than per 24 hours. Prices are set per bank of lockers, so two banks in the same station can differ, and some operators raise them in peak seasons.
Will a large suitcase fit a locker at Shibuya Station?
The large cabinets are about 34 × 57 × 84 cm inside, which takes a case up to roughly 28 inches if you lay it on its back and its depth including the wheels is under about 33 cm. Anything bigger needs an extra-large cabinet, which not every bank has, or a staffed counter.
What if every locker is full?
Full lockers are normal at Shibuya Station from mid-morning onwards in peak seasons. The reliable fallbacks are a staffed baggage room, a storage service such as ecbo cloak that books a café or shop by the day, or sending the case to your next hotel by takkyubin so you do not have to carry it at all.
