Shinagawa has fourteen JR locker banks: two outside the Shinkansen gates, two outside the Konan exit, seven inside the central gate and three inside the north gate. Sizes run from a half-height slot at about ¥300 through small ¥400, medium ¥500, large ¥700 and extra-large ¥800.
The Konan (east) side is the one to aim for. Its bank has around seventeen large units and sees far less traffic than the Takanawa side, where the JR lockers were closed in March 2023.
The Keikyu bank outside the gates on the Takanawa side is still there, with a bit over a hundred units from small to extra-large, and it is accessible around the clock.

If the lockers are full
- Shinagawa is a Shinkansen stop, so sending the case ahead from here is straightforward at any Yamato counter nearby.

- Tokyo Station is two stops away and has an order of magnitude more lockers.

Expect roughly ¥300 for the smallest size and up to about ¥1200 for the largest, per calendar day rather than per 24 hours. Prices are set per bank of lockers, so two banks in the same station can differ, and some operators raise them in peak seasons.
Will a large suitcase fit a locker at Shinagawa Station?
The large cabinets are about 34 × 57 × 84 cm inside, which takes a case up to roughly 28 inches if you lay it on its back and its depth including the wheels is under about 33 cm. Anything bigger needs an extra-large cabinet, which not every bank has, or a staffed counter.
What if every locker is full?
Full lockers are normal at Shinagawa Station from mid-morning onwards in peak seasons. The reliable fallbacks are a staffed baggage room, a storage service such as ecbo cloak that books a café or shop by the day, or sending the case to your next hotel by takkyubin so you do not have to carry it at all.
